In response to requests by our customers through the Retirement Services Customer Advisory Group, the APEX Plus name will be changed to MuniSERP effective immediately. The change was suggested in order to avoid confusion with the two retirement programs APEX and APEX Plus. APEX Plus (now known as MuniSERP) is a Supplementary Executive Retirement Plan and is different than the AMSC APEX Pension Plan.

A SERP is an unregistered retirement plan that provides for retirement benefits in excess of those permitted by the Canada Revenue Agency under registered pension plans. MuniSERP is an unregistered retirement plan that ensures a full 2.0% benefit is payable on all of an employee’s highest average earnings.
