The deadline for all nominations (except Vice-Presidents) is 4:30 p.m., Thursday, September 13, 2012.
Nominations may be filed with the AUMA office by e mail to any time before 4:30 p.m. on September 13. If a candidate is not able to e mail the form, it may be filed by Fax to 780-433-4454.
Positions Available for Election in 2012
(b) Vice-President Cities under 500,000 population
(c) Vice-President, Towns
(d) Vice-President, Villages and Summer Villages
(e) 1 Director from Cities up to 500,000 population
(f) 1 Director from Towns West
(g) 1 Director from Towns South
(h) 1 Director from Villages East
(i) 1 Director from Villages West
NOMINATION FORMS are available on the AUMA website. PLEASE NOTE that there is a separate nomination form for President this year which requires the signatures of 5 nominators.
ALL NOMINATED CANDIDATES are asked to be at the front of the convention hall at the time of the Returning Officer report during the Annual General Meeting to draw for speaking order.
In addition the Cities over 500,000 population will each appoint one Director for the 2012-2014 term of office and each will designate one of their Directors as a Vice-President.
Elections begin at 9:00 a.m., Friday, September 28, 2012. The President election is held first, followed by the Director elections. Following a recess, the Vice-President elections are held.
Chief Elected Officials and Chief Administrative Officers are requested to ensure that all council members are aware of the 2012 Nominations deadline.
AUMA Returning Officer
