Alberta’s Nutrition Report Card

About Alberta’s Nutrition Report Card

Since 2015, Alberta Innovates and the University of Alberta School of Public Health have partnered to create an annual Alberta Nutrition Report Card. This report is an assessment of the current food and nutrition landscape in Alberta.  It details how government policies and actions can facilitate healthy eating behaviours, particularly those of our youngest residents.

Alberta’s 2019 Nutrition Report Card is the fifth annual assessment and focuses on how to target an optimal food environment for young children. An infographic highlighting the primary recommendations of this report can be found at the bottom of this page.

All published versions of the Nutrition Report Card are available here from Alberta Policy Coalition for Chronic Disease Prevention Website.

AUMA members may be particularly interested in the 2018 report card; the 2018 report had a municipal focus, highlighting grades for 15 indicators and benchmarks specifically related to municipalities.
