The Alberta Urban Municipalities Association (AUMA) is committed to providing our not-for-profit members with increased learning opportunities. In this spirit, we have partnered with the Government of Alberta’s Community Development Unit to present a Board Development Program Webinar Series.
This series has been developed specifically for Alberta’s not-for-profit boards and provides basic board governance tools to help not-for-profit board members achieve their optimum performance and will run every Wednesday, until June 2, 2021. This session shows you how you have to spend some time to understand risk and deal with the risks of most relevance to your organization.
- The Role of the Board Chair - May 25, 2021
This 2-hour webinar will discuss the key expectations of a chairperson to better perform their leadership role in a nonprofit organization.
- Committees and Meetings – May 26, 2021
Attendees will be taken through the different components of the structure of a meeting and some suggestions on how to think about leadership before, during, and after the meeting.
- Building Strong Teams and Effective Relationships – June 2, 2021
The final webinar in this series will provide additional relevant information that will help you understand why situations arise, how to deal with them, and ideas for addressing the root causes before they happen.
