The Role

The Town of High River is looking for a Temporary full-time Utilities Technician to join our Public Works Department within the Town of High River. The Utilities Technician is a semi-skilled employee that be required to perform duties of a specialized nature within a wastewater, water, and storm sewer environment.

 

The successful candidate must possess a Grade 12 education and have a minimum of three years of municipal water and wastewater experience and be certified in level 1 wastewater collection and water distribution. Applicants should have significant knowledge of the practices, procedures, and principles used in all aspects of the water distribution and wastewater collection (i.e. hydrant maintenance, water meters, water main and service maintenance, leak detection/water loss, storm sewer maintenance, sanitary main and service maintenance, backflow prevention/ cross connection control, storm drainage systems and OH&S regulations).

 

 

Applicants must have a class 3Q driver’s license with a reliable vehicle and be able to obtain a clear criminal record checks. Candidates should possess tickets or willingness to obtain tickets in; Confined Space Entry and Rescue, Trenching, H2S, Fall Arrest, Flagman, WHMIS, Equal Potential Grounding Certificate, Basic First Aid and CPR. Training will be provided
