The Alberta Urban Municipalities Association was founded in 1905 and today represents Alberta’s urban municipalities. This includes cities, towns, villages, summer villages, and specialized municipalities, as well as Associate and Affiliate members.
Like our members, we are dynamic and constantly evolving. What remains constant is our commitment to representing and advocating the interests of all our members to both the provincial and federal governments. We also work closely with other provincial and federal organizations.
Our goal is to develop a strong and engaged partnership between all three levels of government. We will do this by creating a shared vision of Alberta’s future—one that involves long term planning focused on social and economic growth, a strategic and stable funding matrix for capital projects, vital emergency and social services, and implementation and coordination in the delivery of these services. This partnership will ensure our province’s sustainability and resiliency.
